The clinic
Kids First offer a robust Autism Diagnostic Clinic following the NICE guidelines. Our highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist, Chevonne, has teamed up with Jessica Wilson (Occupational Therapist) and Paediatrician Dr Ranjini Mohan. If you’re worried about your child’s social communication and / or believe they may be on the Autism Spectrum, our ADOS clinic has been designed to give families the dedicated time and space to explore the possibility of a diagnosis.
What to expect
We offer a robust assessment process to allow us time to get to know your child, understand your concerns and the concerns of the school, gather sufficient evidence to identify Autism in males and females, and offer tailored recommendations following the assessment.
- Detailed pre-assessment screenings
- Detailed developmental history with our paediatrician
- ADOS-2 completed by both our therapists
- Additional speech and language or occupational therapy assessments if indicated
- A full, detailed report of the findings
- Feedback to families upon completion of the assessment
Assessment
The SaLT and OT assessments are conducted at the Kids First centre in Kenley. The assessment takes between 2-3.5 hours including meeting with Dr Mohan online.
Following the assessment, you will receive a detailed report within 3-4 weeks and of course, you will receive ongoing care from our SaLT and OT team as needed.
